Halfway between Rialto and Sant’Angelo, on the San Marco bank, Palazzo Corner Spinelli is the palazzo where Venice changed century without noticing: built between 1480 and 1490 for the Lando, it is considered the emblem of the passage from Gothic to Renaissance — the Istrian-stone façade, symmetrical and rhythmed by classical two-light windows, nevertheless preserves two trefoil balconies of Gothicising taste that are unique in the city.
