A calle (a Venetian lane) that promises an angel — and the angel really is there, but you have to know where to look. The Calle al Ponte de l’Anzolo runs towards the little stone bridge that crosses the rio di San Zulian (a rio is a small Venetian canal), here on the border between San Marco and Castello, a stone’s throw from the Canonica and the Bridge of Sighs.
